Purplle gets funding from IvyCap Ventures

Purplle gets funding from IvyCap VenturesPurplle, an online beauty and grooming retailer has raised an undisclosed amount in funding from IvyCap Ventures. IvyCap normally invests Rs 15-30 crore in each of its deals.

Vikram Gupta, founder, IvyCap will shortly be joining the board of Manash Lifestyle, the firm behind Purplle.com.

Founded by IIT-Delhi alumnus Manish Taneja and IIM-Ahmedabad graduate Rahul Dash, Purplle, not only sells cosmetics but also helps its clients to fix salon appointments. Purplle offers details of salons and spas in Delhi, Mumbai, and Gurgaon with information like contact numbers, addresses, reviews, and location.

“Our plan is to stay in the beauty vertical, stick to online and not diversify into offline and make our international foray soon. The focus going forward is to establish a hyper local beauty community, the discovery process will further lead to purchase of product and services,” said Taneja.

Purplle has tied up with more than 7,000 salons, spas, skin care, and hair care chains across Mumbai and plans to take that number up to 50,000 across 30 cities by the end of this year.
