Founder of Indus Net Technologies, Abhishek Rungta’s journey as a successful entrepreneur was not a cake walk but faced many challenges with persistence. He started his entrepreneur venture in 1997 with a profit of Rs 50 and by the end of 1997-98 turnover was Rs 1 lakh. Company had a turnover of Rs 15 lakh during 2002 and by 2007 it was Rs 6 crore which was explosive and in 2013 it was Rs 40 cr. He is targeting for Rs 60 crore by the end of 2015.
Abhishek is from Kolkata, finished his schooling from South Point High School and graduation in commerce from St. Xaviers College. During his college days he started working as a salesman with Citibank which helped him to have good understanding on sales. At that same time, he had broken his leg from a bike accident and instead of cursing his luck sitting in one corner he started exploring about computers and internet. This opened him a new world of technology surpassing commerce field.
He became passionate on computers and understood the petty IT requirements of customers in Kolkata. He started exploring more on internet installation, mobile phones, and modems. Without looking back he started his IT venture by taking up small IT jobs and within a short span, he hosted his largest web hosting company in Kolkata. He realised his potential and decided to pursue his studies in multimedia and left for UK but always regretted for missing dotcom boom in India.
His family was always a backbone for him and supported him during ups and downs. His sister though illiterate on hosting, managed a webhosting company during her brother’s absence and his father always encouraged him to continue as an entrepreneur.
He always learnt lessons from his experience, profession, business model, people, location, or education so this resulted in building a strong knowledge base. After returning from UK, he prioritised the customer requirements and started implementing ideas from his experience. He made remarkable contributions by launching IT businesses on web design, .net technology, mobile technology, digital marketing, and enterprise sector.
