Janrain, a Portland technology company that provides SaaS solutions has acquired Arktan, provider of innovative real-time social curation and social engagement products. However, the financial details have not been disclosed.
The acquisition allows customer identity to be deeply integrated with engagement and activity data, enhancing marketers’ understanding of their customers through increased engagement.
Arktan was founded by Rahul Aggarwal and Srikanth Nagandla in 2009 is based in Redwood City, CA. Arktan solutions help brands increase customer engagement on their sites and mobile apps with real-time innovative social experiences. Key Arktan clients include Sony Music, WWE, A&E, Walmart, and Turner Entertainment.

Aggarwal will join Janrain as General Manager of the Customer Engagement Business Unit.
Founded in 2005 by Larry Drebes, Janrain is based in Portland, Oregon, with offices in London, Paris, Frankfurt, Singapore, Bangkok and Redwood City, CA.
