Gurgaon-based raises Rs 1.8 crore

Gurgaon-based raises Rs 1.8, a socially driven local service market place has raised Rs 1.8 crore funding led by investors including Anupam Mittal of and Manish Vij of adtech firm SVG Media.

The funding also saw participation from CEO Prashant Tandon and CTO Gaurav Agarwal of, Akash Agarwal, global vice-president of the mobile division of enterprise software maker SAP Labs, Himanshu Aggarwal, CEO of education firm Aspiring Minds and Kevin Parikh of consulting firm Avasant.

Founded by Sunil Goyal, Lomesh Dutta, and Akshay Khanna in July 2014, helps users to discover service providers and professionals in the nearby locality. The platform provides services under home needs, health and wellness, and events where users get to contact service providers like carpenters, plumbers, cardiologists, fitness trainers, makeup artists, birthday, and planners. The service is currently operational in Gurgaon. opts for the top professionals or freelancers to provide service and verifies them with Adhaar identity before listing them on the site.

“We believe this is the next big thing after ecommerce. So, we approached entrepreneurs who have successfully run internet companies to invest in the company,” said CEO Lomesh Dutta.

Earlier Lomesh and Sunil had co-founded Wirkle, a mobile application development firm that was acquired by Location Labs, US in 2011.
